Kathy is survived by her son, Todd Cort her beautiful and cherished granddaughters, Ella Mae Cort and Emma Kay Cort her brother, Charles Cannon nieces, nephews, and many other family members. Kathy loved her worship and prayer time and found strength in her cherished and spirit-filled daily gospel music time. Most importantly, it was her heart’s desire for those she loved and cared for, as well as many strangers, to share Christ and his saving gospel. Kathy was a domestic engineer/small business owner, who also was a proud patent holder which gave her a sense of accomplishment that she held dear. She was a mother who gave unconditional love to her son and granddaughters as well as all of those who came into her life for a reason or a season. Kathy was an incredible woman and child of God who gave unconditionally in many facets of her life, especially her love and giving. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1967. Kathy was born on May 23, 1949, in Des Moines to Charles Marion and Easter Violet (Mercer) Cannon. Her example of God's love and service is her legacy. She will be most remembered by family and friends as one who showed Christian kindness and compassion to all whose lives she touched. Kay was a founding member and steadfast servant in the LPC Caring Christians and Prayer Chain ministry team serving for more than 15 years. She was a faithful member of the Latrobe Presbyterian Church where she was active in various women's groups and Bible studies. Kay loved gardening, playing tennis and golf, but her true passion was serving others. with whom she shared her love and life for 68 years. Shortly after her service she married Curtis W. She served our nation at Camp Lejeune, NC from 1943-1945. Kay was a graduate of McClure High School Class of 1940 and attended Kutztown College for 2 years before enlisting in the US Marine Corps with twin sister Polly and brother Bud. of McClure she was one of eight Klinger siblings including her twin, Polly. 9, 1922, in McClure, the daughter of the late Bertha and James Klinger Sr. Kathryn "Kay" Herb, of Latrobe, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday afternoon, April 7, 2024.
